In minecraft, can you put the regeneration effect on armor? If so, how?

Recently i have played a map on minecraft and found out you can make a piece of armor give you more max health! I was wondering if you could do the same thing with regeneration. If you know how to, please help me by outting the command and what it does! Thank you and please help me! (I'm trying to make a map if this works)
