Is an Intel Core i5 good for a laptop?

I'm about to buy a new laptop (as my crapbook just died). I found one with an Core i5 CPU. Is that good? (cause i generally know no sh!t about cpus)
p.s. I play gta 4, minecraft, cod black ops, l4d et cetera
Added (1). p.s. 2: i watch youtube videos oftenly, customize the OS (custom themes, icons, docks et cetera), sometimes push the laptop to the limit, run a minecraft server and the list goes on
