How to fix brightness settings on laptop?

I got this brand new ASUS Windows 8 Laptop and it keeps on changing the brightness and colors of the screen on its own depending on what windows is open, say, really bright and white on Google Chrome but blueish and dark on eg. Minecraft.
How do I change that to not happen?
