What's the difference between legit minecraft and cracked minecraft?

I have 2 friends one who's family is poor and my cousin who's family is rich so my cousin bought minecraft and my friend got the cracked version they both are playing it My questions is why should i buy the game except support the developers Second question is why is there no way to stop cracked versions of the game since Minecraft is popular
