How much better is an Intel Core i5-4460 LGA 1150 from an Intel g3240?

I have a Dell inspiron 3847 and an Nvidia GTX 660 Graphics card. My power supply is good enough btw. And I have 12gb of ram and windows 10. I want to upgrade to the Intel Core i5-4460 LGA 1150. Is it compatible? Because it's an LGA.
