Java.exe - Application Error?

lately i've been getting back into the gist of playing pc games but after opening minecraft, it says

java.exe - Application Error

The application was unable to start correctly (0xc0000005). Click OK to close the application.

i've done a little bit of digging around and everyone is saying to uninstall certain windows updates, most of them i've already uninstalled but it ceases to work. What can i do?
