What is the best gaming desktop under $1000?

This is my first time buying a gaming computer, and I dont really know what to look for. I've been a console gamer my entire life (with the exception of some minecraft on a cheap toshiba laptop) and i want to switch to computer gaming. Any advice about computer gaming is also very appreciated.
