My First PC Build - Help?!

Okay so these are the parts I have picked out - http://pcpartpicker.com/p/zRRjf7 I have a few questions.

1) Are these parts compatible?
2) Do you have any better suggestions in place of these parts (In the price range-Can fluctuate)
3) I have the western digital 1TB but do I need a SSD? - I dont have money for SSD right now but Can you run the PC without one?
4) Do I really need an optical drive?
5) Finally, Do you think I would be able to Run games on low settings without the GTX 960? - Wont be able to get it for a month or so. Eg. Minecraft and Rocket League (Maybe GTA V)
