Need advice on recording PC game play?

Hi, I have a capture from a few years back called the Elgato game capture HD (not 60 version), which I got to record console gaming. I recently switched to PC gaming, and I really like that capture card's software because it has some very useful features, for example it can export mic audio, game audio and video as separate files and that makes editing a lot easier. The problem is that the best quality it can record at is 720p 60fps or 1080p 30fps, but unfortunately can't record 1080p 60fps, which is how I play my games. My question is, is it a good idea to continue using this capture card because of my preference towards it and have to choose between recording 720p 60fps on a 1080p monitor or 1080p 30fps? If so, which do people like to see more on YouTube, 720p @60 or 1080p @30? I'm afraid that if I record in 720p on a 1080p monitor, the video will lose a lot of visual fidelity, so it seems like 30 fps at native resolution might be better because watching video instead of playing games in 30fps is the norm, isn't it? Alternatively, I know that I can get OBS and Dxtory and all those programs, but it seems like they aren't very efficient and make the computer lose many frames while recording, plus OBS is confusing to set up and doesn't seem to be able to separate audio tracks, which is kind of a deal breaker for me. I have an fx 6300, r9 380, and play gta 5, battlefield 4, minecraft, civilization 5, dark souls 2. What should I do? I appreciate all input, thank you in advance.
