How long do gaming laptops and pc's last?

My Macbook is turning 7 this year and all of my storage is almost full. I've deleted a lot of stuff I don't use and old documents and pictures and such and I still have barely enough space left.

I'm thinking about getting a new laptop. Since I'd like to be able to play more games than the ones I currently play now, I'm leaning towards a PC or gaming laptop. My #1 fear is how long it will last. I do not want to pay $1000 for a brand new sparkly gaming laptop that craps out on me after 2 years. Same for a pc.

I've heard pc's aren't very good because they don't last long and I've been told to get another Mac, but I want to be able to play more. I'm not a competitive gamer, I just want to be able to play more games (currently I play WoW and League of Legends and sometimes Minecraft when I'm feeling creative. I also have Binding of Isaac and Undertale and some other Steam games. There are games I want to play that are only for pc or that my laptop just cant handle). Somehow, my elderly Macbook has been able to support all that but I'm running out of space.

While my Macbook is starting to fall apart, it's lasted me a VERY long time. I want a computer that will last me a long time for the amount I pay for it. I try to take pretty good care of my electronics and I don't want it to last me 3 years then start crapping out.

How much do gaming laptops and pc's usually last on average? (and if anyone has any recommendations for a specific one that'd be great)
