Why did this fire stsrt for no reason in minecraft?

I was playing on a multilayer world with a few friends who were no where near me at the time, there are no lava pools or anything around the area and all of a sudden I see a fire in our tree wall and I did not set it on fire, how did this happen?

Oh and there were no mobs on fire around there also
