What blocks do minecraft mobs walk off? - 1

i have made a gold farm in minecraft (with zombie pigmen) 1.6.4 and found a problem, they would not willingly walk off so i am now looking for a way for them to fall so is the a block that mobs will just walk through e.g. Signs, ladders e.t.c
