Minecraft Optifine won t work?

I ve downloaded Optifine for both 1.7.10 and 1.8.4 and neither of them seem to work or even appear on the launcher. I have installed them correctly but they just don t show up, can I get help? I ve tried to uninstall the game, yet nothing seems to work.
