Laptop's internet connection?

So, I recently fixed an issue on my laptop where I was only allowed to use dial up internet connections and Ethernet cables. And after it I have connected to my wifi and tried to play minecraft and it wouldn't connect so I tried google chrome and its saying that there is not Internet connection. The connection is at 3/4 bars
