My new CPU is the same performance as my old one?

I got my new CPU (AMD fx 8350) for minecraft. I heard minecraft is a CPU based game. My old CPU was a AMD fx 4130. I've seem the same amount of FPS from both CPUs I dont understand. Pretty much I get 150-200 fps on minecraft from my old CPU. Now I get 150-200 fps still. The CPU is a whole lot better than my old one but it doesn't increase the speed. Help?
