Why do people ask for things online?

So me and my kids watch a youtube channel called ToyBoxCollectibles we love the unicorno unboxing videos. I went to the comments and read a few and i found lots of people saying stuff like Can i have the lady bug one or Can you buy me the clown one? It really annoys me. One time I watched a video of someone unboxing a pullip doll and someone said Can I have it for free? Youtube isn't the only place where I see this. My kids used to play Animal Jam and sometimes they would see people on Animal Jam saying stuff like, it's my bday gimmie items! Its not just items I see people ask for, on SmallishBeans Minecraft 100 Baby Challenge people would say things like "Can you name a baby Jason after my brother who was murder a month or two ago." A person really said that. I know their lying because they would remember the date and they would be mourning instead of watching youtube. Why do people ask for things online? Nobody would do this irl
