Cannot launch minecraft after getting a new internal harddrive?

I haven t been able to start minecraft ever since I switched hard drives on my laptop. It had been running well when the current harddrive was still in the old laptop but when I switched it to my laptop it stopped. I open the launcher, press play and and it starts like it s going to launch before the launcher suddenly closes and nothing ever opens. Can anybody help? I have tried using different launchers to no avail.
